GLCT’s COVID-19 Protection Plan
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Protection Plan
Great Lakes Clinical Trials is committed to providing our community with exceptional clinical trials services in a safe, clean environment. We hold ourselves to the highest industry standards of sanitation and cleanliness and follow the recommendations laid out by Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
100 percent of Great Lakes Clinical Trials staff are fully vaccinated
Though we are not a clinic that provides standard-of-care treatment for illnesses and infections as you would expect in a hospital or your regular doctors office, we do see patients regularly as participants in clinical trials. As such, we interact with the Chicagoland community on a daily basis and we have taken extra precautions within our clinic to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus as we conduct these essential visits.
As part of Great Lakes Clinical Trials’ Coronavirus Protection Plan:
Any patient who is suspected or confirmed COVID positive will be seen at our Clark Street Clinic (5113 N. Clark St.). This clinic has updated HVAC systems including more air exchanges per hour, UV light and HEPPA filters. Additionally, each patient treatment room is equipped with a free standing HEPPA filter. Staff has access to ICU level PPE.
As always, all surfaces and equipment are disinfected before and after use.
Protective masks are worn during visits.
We continue to review and follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control, the Chicago Department of Public Health, and other healthcare professionals on a daily basis. As such, we will make adjustments to our Coronavirus Protection Plan as necessary, as we understand that decisions regarding this pandemic need to be made based on science and facts, and not public opinion or politics.
Great Lakes Clinical Trials has remained open during these times and has taken these additional steps to minimize the spread of this virus in our community. We do this to allow our valued patients and volunteers to continue to participate in our clinical trials, which may help treat various conditions for themselves or others across the globe.
