Effective Communication Strategies for Dementia Caregivers

Alzheimer's disease and other dementias gradually diminish a person's ability to communicate. Communication with a person with Alzheimer's requires patience, understanding and good listening skills.

This month’s Dementia Caregiver Support group, led by Great Lakes Clinical Trials founder Steve Satek, will feature a special guest from the Alzheimer’s Association who will present on “Effective Communication Strategies”

Support groups create a safe, confidential, supportive environment or community and a chance for participants to develop informal mutual support and social relationships. They also educate and inform participants about dementia and help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems.

If you are a Caregiver of someone living with Dementia, please join us at the Evanston Public Library., Community Meeting Room - 107, 1703 Orrington Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201 from 6:30pm until 7:30pm. There is no cost to join this event.
